Production cooperative enhances its decision making process in the commercialization area
Coopavel – Agrobusiness Cooperative, with headquarters in the west of Paraná State, South Brazil, was founded on December 15th, 1970. Currently, it has 24 branches in 17 cities in the west and southwest of Paraná, with 3.400 associates and 4.600 employees. From its R$ 1.4 billion invoicing, 75% are from industrialized products, sold all over Brazil and part of it is exported to Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa. For such, Coopavel has an industrial park of 12 plants that process agricultural and cattle products, besides a Corporate University and other support units.
Its information and communication technology area (ICT) has a team of 27 professionals in charge of the development of its management systems, users support, and communication and computing equipment structure. This team has met the company’s demands properly, according to its planning. The commercialization area, however, in a certain time, started having the need of more agile instruments to generate and explore the information supporting its decision making process that was based on electronic spreadsheets. To meet this demand in a safe and agile way, the ICT management suggested the use of a Business Intelligence software tool and, among the options available in the market, it found in BXBmaster the best cost/benefit relation alternative.
BXBmaster, developed and commercialized by BXBsoft, showed effectiveness for the objectivity and simplicity that it meets the main demands of a Business Intelligence project in large organizations, offering key resources that such a tool needs to offer.
According to Rogério Aver, Coopavel ICT manager, “the speed in which the users assimilated the new tool was surprising, without opposition and cultural barriers that are common in companies when they adopt new technologies”. This acceptance level is certainly due to the use simplicity and easiness allowed by BXBmaster.
The same implementation easiness is also noticed by the development team itself (IT area). “Because it is a very intuitive tool, the assimilation process of its resources was very fast and avoided long technical training. In a few days, we already had the first applications made available to key users”, highlights Noeli Gregório, the system analyst in charge of the project.
